gCash Privacy Policy
How GenieDeals collects, uses, and protects the information of Genieans (members) and Genie Partners (vendors) in the gCash loyalty program.
Introduction
GenieDeals (“GenieDeals”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the gCash loyalty rewards program (“gCash”, “the Program”) through geniedeals.in. gCash stands for “Genie Cash” — the reward currency of the Program. gCash has no value outside GenieDeals and can only be used or redeemed with our Genie Partners, against applicable Genie Price Offers.
This Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and shared, and the choices and rights available to you. It applies to two kinds of users:
- Genieans — individual members who enroll in and use gCash to earn and redeem rewards
- Genie Partners — merchants and vendors who participate in the Program by posting Genie Price Offers and accepting gCash
Where a rule applies only to one group, it is marked accordingly below. By enrolling in gCash or onboarding as a Genie Partner, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not enroll in or use the Program.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data such as health information or biometric data unless specifically required for identity or business verification, and only with explicit consent.
How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your gCash account and reward balance
- Process point accrual, redemption, transfers, and expiry
- Verify your identity and prevent fraud, abuse, or duplicate enrollment
- Personalize Genie Price Offers and communications based on your activity
- Send transactional messages (balance updates, redemption confirmations) and, with consent, marketing messages
- Onboard, verify, and manage your Genie Partner account and Genie Plan
- Review and publish your Genie Price Offers to Genieans
- Process subscription billing, settlements, and redemption reconciliation
- Monitor offer performance and Program compliance
- Analyze Program usage to improve features and customer experience
- Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce our Terms and Conditions
Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data on the following bases recognized under the DPDP Act, 2023, for both Genieans and Genie Partners:
- Consent — for enrollment/onboarding, marketing communications, and any optional features that request your permission
- Performance of the Program terms — to operate the account you signed up for, whether as a Geniean or a Genie Partner
- Legitimate uses — such as fraud prevention and safeguarding the integrity of the Program
- Legal obligation — where processing is required to comply with applicable law
You may withdraw consent at any time for processing that relies on it, as described in Your Rights, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Genie Partners — to record eligible transactions and enable redemption of Genie Price Offers at their outlets or platforms
- Service providers — payment processors, cloud hosting, SMS/email delivery, analytics, and customer support vendors, acting on our instructions under confidentiality obligations
- Genieans — your published Genie Price Offer, business name, and outlet details are shown to members browsing the Program
- Payment & settlement providers — to process subscription billing and redemption settlements
- Corporate transactions — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection of your data
- Legal and regulatory bodies — where disclosure is required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GenieDeals, our members, our Genie Partners, or the public
Data Storage & Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational security practices, consistent with the standards prescribed under the IT Act, 2000 and its rules, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews, for the data of both Genieans and Genie Partners. Personal data collected for gCash is stored on servers located in India or with providers that maintain equivalent safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your gCash account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, comply with legal and tax obligations, and enforce our agreements.
We retain your business, offer, and billing data for as long as your Genie Partner account remains active on the Program, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations.
If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within the timeframe described in our data retention schedule, unless retention is required by law.
Your Rights
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, 2023, both Genieans and Genie Partners (or their authorized contacts) have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold and how it is processed
- Request correction, completion, or updating of personal data
- Request erasure of personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity
- Register a grievance regarding how your data is handled

Cookies & Tracking
Our website and app use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Program is used. You can control cookies through your browser or device settings; disabling certain cookies may limit some features of gCash.
Children’s Privacy
gCash is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older, or who otherwise meet the age of eligibility described in our Terms and Conditions. Where a parent or lawful guardian enrolls a child as a Geniean, we process the child’s data based on verifiable parental consent as required under the DPDP Act, 2023. The Genie Partner Program is available only to businesses and their authorized adult representatives.
Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the DPDP Act, 2023, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address complaints from Genieans and Genie Partners regarding this Policy or the handling of personal data.

Changes to This Policy
